Hello everyone! My time lurking on this great forum is over! I hope my english is not too bad, it's not my first language.
Right now, I'm buying and selling vehicule(hopefully for a profit). Here's my last project.
It's a 2003 Dodge Ram 4x4 4.7l 198000km (124000 miles). Got it for 800$
The good
Interior in good shape
The brakes are working great
It was cheap
4x4, A/C, sound system, cruise control are working great
No play in the steering componements
The bad
Check engine light is on and there is less power than it should be
The electric windows do not go down
Rust on the front fenders and rocker panels
The exaust is leaking and is making a ticking noise on the front right side.
There are 3 broken leaf springs

That looks like your average Quebecois rust to me. $800 is not a bad price for this truck.
Check the power-window switches, I know that if the drivers' door one is loose it can keep the rest of them from working (because of the child locks).
You know you're from Quebec when you have a snowmobile in the driveway. What are the plans for the rust?
The wiring to the doors breaks from being pinched with opening and closing the doors. Then power door features like interior lights and electric windows quit. You can open the loom up when the door is open and have a peek for breaks.

You're right. I tried the power windows switch from my other ram and the windows are working so i'm getting one from ebay. So far, this what I have in it.
800$ for the truck
180$ for immatriculation and taxes
43.44$ for power windows switch
The rear right door wouldn't open but after removing the trim, I noticed that a little plastic clip that hold the locking mecanism wasn't on his place. After clipping it back, the door work flawlessly.
After that, it was the rocker panels that needed work. Here's a couple pictures.
I'm still amazed at what you guys think is just normal everyday vehicle stuff and down here we'd be talking about sending it to the junkyard.
Good job on the rockers holy cow! Were those an overlay or butt welded in or ...?

Butt welded on top and at each end, end I drilled hole and spot welded it in the bottom.
