Its a tiny issue, but what happened to the badges on the trunklid? No indication of which engine this car has, tho I suppose that wouldn't make much difference tho the 3 liter would be a more attractive deal.
When these cars were new, I walked into the local Jaguar dealership and asked if they had a five speed, AWD X-Type. The sales manager ran out and handed me the keys to a BRG five speed with the most beautiful ivory leather interior I had ever seen. Identical to this car. He told me to take it for the whole day, and made it very clear that I could buy the car for $25,000. MSRP was around $36,000.
I drove it for less than an hour. I really wanted to love that car, but I just didn't. I had absolutely zero confidence in it. I bought a new WRX instead.

When a fireman want's a car that's new and explodey, but not upscale.
That interior is way prettier than the black leather of the one I shoved off my back this past winter. I wonder if I would have hated it less if it looked like that.
I just couldn't get behind this thing. The shifter was too far away for comfort, the belt line was bulbous, the dials and gauges seemed to much late 90s.

That 2004 WRX was pretty much flawless for the 127,000 miles that I owned it. Every miles was a hard one.
If you bought one new as an adult, and then took care of it like you should, you could flog it relentlessly and reliably.
Don't try to dump the clutch and do big smokey burnouts in a car with tons of traction.
