This truck is hand built, it was an old US Navy truck that lived it's life locally at Dahlgren, VA. I acquired the truck a couple years ago in colonial beach and decided that I didn't want the original drivetrain or suspension, or pretty much any of it. So, I put the entire truck on a 2004 Silverado chassis. This includes 4 wheel disc brakes, 5.3L V8 with 6.0L heads from a GTO that have 2.02/1.60 valves and corvette blue valve springs. The engine is strong, the transmission is a 4L65E and that is also strong. The dashboard and firewall and floorboards are all from the silverado. Basically, it is a silverado, with an old rusty, beautiful body. It is reliable and strong and get's more attention that you will know what to do with. It is, by all definitions, bad ass.

Except for the FUBAR steering wheel and column, that's pretty damn cool.
That"s the strangest use of time and talent I am going to see today.
yeah, looks really cool. I would've tried to keep the original dash/gauge/steering, but other than that I love it. Would love to stick a modern truck under my 84 f250.
The steering just looks like it is missing an airbag and plastic column cover to be right back to GM standard.
10k is steep though.

not even close. Go look at the BatTrike (TM) on the hotlink thread.
Lotta work in that, but no way I'd give 10k. Seems like the original dash would have been better, and the window tint is just ...wrong.

I love the idea of dropping old iron on a new chassis, but the interior is usually what leaves me cold on builds like this.
