Seller's text:
"A family friend's husband died 35 years ago and she parked in a garage when that happened. I Just acquired the vehicle but I do not have the time to fix it and I have too many projects. It is original owner. bairely any rust. the window was left down ing garage so there is surface dust and mold in the car. just needs to be cleaned. I also do not have the key. I DO have a clean title for it."
I LOVE this vintage bodystyle. $800 seems like a steal.
Crud. Wrong end of the country, and nowhere to park it on arrival.
The wood on the trailer is nicely stained.
Absolute steal, the Series 1 bumpers were 3 years only, and make the car's appearance. These are undervalued even in perfect shape, and probably the next Jag to begin appreciating. Maybe not to Mk2 level but must come up due to low survival rate.
Do want.
Black with Red interior. All it needs is a SBC swap.
Someone grab that, I'll come get it from you in a few years!

I really like those series 1 Black and Red are classic color combination.
That 4.2 is the final development of Sir Lyons WW2 firewatch designed six cylinder masterpiece.
I like those early, low bumper cars. I still remember the first one that I saw, and it was frequently parked near a later Jag. The difference was really striking.
I may have messaged the seller, asking for more pictures.

My first thought was "i need more pictures", then remembered I cant get it, anyway, so... would still like to see more!
I remember when the tv show The Equalizer came out. Classy car, but had no interest in that stogy ol' 4 dr. Now I've got a lot in common with that older, silver haired, slightly overweight gentleman, so one would suit me fine!. and a 72 would be a great year.
berkeley. I could ride my bike to look at this. That's not good.

Sir, here's your mission. How much storage space do you have?

That's good. Really good. Discussions were taking a dangerous direction.

Those are top secret blueprints!
I saw that last evening, should have jumped on it as it was a killer deal. Don't have room to store it properly but a great deal. This one really should not be built into a challenge car, despite the price due to it being a survivor in my opinion. But I highly endorse the top secret plans above for a dual engine Xj6, I am sure one will come along more suitable soon.
I mean, I know they have different bumpers, but beautiful Jaguars that you can drive home exist for not much more than this:
Shameless Plug to mine
Also, if I were going to do a twin engined Jag, I think I'd go with two FWD Honda v6s.
I'm glad that I didn't see this until after it had sold.

I'm confused, Is yours for sale now ?
In reply to Indy "Nub" Guy :
No no no. But I bought it for $1800.
My point was that many many jags can be found cheap and I know the one in this thread is more desirable because of the bumpers, but guaranteed there is more than $1k of parts and work to get it driveable. That's all.

That's the catch with cheap jags. Maybe cheap euros in general lol

Wouldn't a V12 be the same as 2 sixes?
Doesn't it have handsome lines, though? The last car Sir Lyons actually had a hand in designing. The Series1 had a shorter wheelbase which was much better for parking but a bit tight in the back seats for taller adults.
