1979 Toyota Cressida

Hey guys,

I am both frustrated, and in need of cash to do home repairs, so I am offering this car up. I would love to get $5000 or as close to it as I can, but I understand with the odd cooling system issues that I will have to take less. I have close to that into it, plus shipping from the west coast to the east coast so it is a losing proposition anyway. The car is super solid with only faded paint that may be saved with the right talent. I am located in South-Eastern MA (02330), and I could deliver for a fee if you want, or can work with a shipper as I am well versed in such dealings.

My post on CL can be seen here. I plan to amend it asap regarding the cooling system troubles that I thought were gone, but have reappeared.

Hate to see it go, but these repairs to my house need to happen, and I am getting burned out on cars anyway. Think I will just keep the two long term vehicles in my fleet. My 74 REPU, and 79 RX-7.

Thats a shame about the cooling system as its a beautiful car. Hopefully it works out and you get to keep it. Either way somebody else with some spare time could get a really nice cruiser out of this.

I remember when these cars came out how expensive they were. I've liked all the models of Cressidas. Good luck with the sale.

Bump. Please make me an offer I need to get it out of here. It is taking up space, and I need the cash.

I got the water pump back in, and all buttoned up. Ran hot on one leg of my trip around the block, and then I shut it down, and finished the trip with it running right in the middle of the temp gauge. No idea what the problem is, but I am open to offers, and or interesting trades. Also the power steering pump is leaking, but I will fix that before a sale, or trade.

Low ball me I am motivated.

I am open to trades as well. Cutter was in contact with me regarding the car, and seemed serious about it for a friend, but has since disappeared.

can you host some pics online so you can post em here? I'm not really a potential customer, as I'm broke as hell. but some pics would potentially help the sale...plus I'm curious as to what kinda shape she's in being up in the frozen land of salt and brine

I will post some. It is a west coast car from CA via Seattle for less than a year. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer chassis anywhere though.

I have seen the car in person and it is in very very nice unrestored condition, Chris finds the cleanest old skool cars.

Speaking as the former owner of a '79 Supra with the same drivetrain, I can tell you cooling issues are a recurrent PITA. I put several headgaskets on that thing, and a head. Finally I just took to running it without a thermostat.

No but this made sense,and wouldn't kill me. And I already have a father so butt out.
