1987 Porsche 944 Turbo, a bit over 140K miles, excellent shape.  5sp manual, located in southern Dayton OH.  I bought the car almost exactly a year ago, looking for the "next big thing" & expecting another MR2 really, but I saw this in Cincinnati and couldn't pass it up.

The "turbo" emblem was replaced after this photo.

Lots of little things like Rennline bits and pieces, I added LEDs here and there to modernize it a bit, including the headlights from 944Only.

3" binder of full documentatiion back to 1987 including delivery information and photos of the original owner in Germany with the car and on the Autobahn.

I knew I would forget things so I saved the seller's information on Marketplace.  Add onto this two trips to Porsche specialist garages for quite a few things like new air-oil separator, balance shaft adjustment, and more.  My build thread has more information.

My build thread and adventures here...

That RS wing is still in the box and goes with the car along with other parts like another air-oil separator, original corner windows, OEM shifter, old radio (forget the brand), ...

With the purchase of the Celica race car, and impending re-purchase of my old WRX, I can't park 5 cars.  Of all of them, believe it or not, this is the one I'm least invested in (emotionally anyway lol).

SWMBO said I should list it for $25K to the general public, see where it goes.  For friends and GRM types, I will make a much better deal.  $20K

Sorry, I hit Post by mistake and wasn't done.  "SWMBO said I should list it for $25K to the general public, see where it goes.  For friends and GRM types, I will make a much better deal."

Also forgot short shifter that PO included but never installed, as mentioned the original is still included. Honestly it isn't very "short".

I've had a couple of 944 Turbos and love them.  Very cool car.

Lot of car for the money, these are. Can we get a pic of the option code sticker (in rear hatch or otherwise)?

No interest here, only a few comments on the local AX Facebook groups.  Before I delve into the general public I'm wondering if it would be worth it to try BaT?

Probably. In that condition, with all the records, the BaT crowd will eat it up.

One last bump before photos for BaT.  I'm picking up the WRX this weekend.  $19K.

Just peanut gallery chiming in, saw the ad when you first posted, car looks great, records look great, I just have a mental block on 944's being over $20k.  Several friends traded 944 turbos back and forth for $8-10k (years and years ago) and that's where i'm stuck mentally.  I know the markets changed, and i think your car is absolutely worth your asking price, I just can't get there.

In case you wanted feedback :p

That's definitely BaT worthy.

Hoping the rain stops after work, to get photos in overcast sky.  Sunday was bright sunshine and after 3-4hrs of vinyl removal on the WRX this old man's back was done.

The one local guy from an SCCA FB group that seemed interested has ghosted me.  Another reason I don't want to deal with MP or CL.

Having sold a few cars on BaT, getting professional pictures (and lots of them) really helps. I don't have the equipment or knowledge to do that so I hired it out in both cases.

You can pay BaT for a photographer, I think it was $200?  Totally worth it.  My experience with BaT was overall positive but the car sold for 20% less than what I thought the bottom dollar would be, and I still had ~6 people show up to my house to look at it.  None of them bid on it and it was a gigantic waste of my time, which was what I was hoping to avoid by listing it, not have to deal with tire kickers.

I've heard from too many buyers ans sellers on all the sites with bad experiences.  Worst was a guy who paid market for a solid 2002, only to find it needed an engine rebuild and loads of body filler.

Is this sold yet

Nope. 3-4 seemed interested, two dropped off. One offered 16k cash after a lengthy phone call and time to look up some information. One just flat offered $16k cash early on but now doesn't reply.

Another said he couldn't do anything for at least a month and was thinking $15k.

At this point, if the $16k cash guy replies I'm in. If I don't hear from him by end of weekend it goes on BaT no reserve and what happens, happens.

Unless I want to trade for a bike or Subaru Baja, those were offered as well.

I deleted the FM listing in the 3 places it was shared. Just submitted everything to BaT with no reserve. See what they say.

Wednesday morning I got the approval email from BaT. I literally put my credit card with my lunch so I'd remember to pay the $99 fee on my lunchtime.

Then with an hour to spare, I got an email from Cotton with a phone number for some questions. After a couple texts, sent the Google Drive of photos and videos, and a quick Carfax check, he asked for my banking info for a wire transfer.

Last night a delivery guy picked it up and took it to it's new owner.

Jesus. Thank goood ness this is gone.  What an amazing car and I was looking at 944's for sale last night.

I had a chance to buy a nice 1985 a few years ago with full service history for $4500 from a pca guy.  Loved the car. Hated how slow it was.  A turbo would help close that gap.
