This is a 1988 DX Civic that was built for fun, NASA/SCCA Driving Events (HPDE). The project started 10 years ago when I took parts from a 1989 SI and transferred everything to the lighter 88 DX shell, including the welded-in drivers dead pedal in the drivers footwell that is specific to the SI model, along with the SI carpet. The paint is fading, peeling clear coat and the body has some dings and previous repairs. Full SI interior with recovered seats. SI dash and instrument cluster. Si rear cargo cover is in one piece and functional. DX headliner as the Si headliner w sunroof opening is not applicable to this body. Honda radio delete package. The 1989 SI wiring harness, both engine harness and dash harness were installed in the DX shell. Full 91 Integra running gear, larger Integra four wheel disks with Hawk street brake pads, matching Integra brake bias valve and master cylinder. B18a with unknown mileage, oil pan baffles were welded in for track days. Innovative B swap mounts and shift linkage. 1991 LS low geared transmission. The timing belt and water pump were replaced about 5 years ago. Full width aluminum radiator. The Acura ecm has an aftermarket chip, the stock engine still put down 120 hp at the wheels (150 at the crank) on my chassis dyno a few years ago. The clutch is a stage 2. Progress coil covers are excellent for track or autocross days, 450lb rate springs all around. Other modifications include braided brake lines and complete "hard" rubber bushing kit. I have replaced ALL the bushings on the suspension with these and related items like ball joints. The ride is stiff, but corners are excellent with neutral handling at the limit. This car is a lot of fun to drive. SI rear sway bar and mounts were adapted to the DX body. 205/50 tires on 15x6" Acura GS-R wheels. Original 1989 SI lip on the front bumper. Full stainless steel Yonaka 2-1/4 exhaust system has a nice tone. Its a little bit of a project, as is any car of this age. Mostly squeaks and rattles, along with a paint job is needed. This car was literally stripped down to the bare shell. Even the wiring was removed and replaced with the SI harnesses.  I drive it almost everyday. I need to get rid of a few cars but if my others sell before this one, I will gladly keep it another ten years.   https://medford.craigslist.org/cto/d/medford-1988-dx-civic-b18-wheel-disk/7819342079.html

This looks like a nice car.

Can you give me some more details on the previous repairs?

Lower drivers door was hit and not repaired well. Its not a bad hit, more like a long scrape, the repair is what needs to be done correctly. It looks like someone sanded the bondo with 80 grit and repainted over. Minor rust bubbles on the passenger rear fender lip. No rot through just a few bubbles. Front fender has some minor damage. Roof is pealing clear coat badly and has a minor ding. Rear hatch was hit and not repaired well. I have an straight SI hatch that will take care of that. I have a fender that's in better shape also. Both would be included with the sale. Like I said. Just standard stuff for the age of the car that can be fixed with tlc and paint. Clean title.

Beautiful car. Does it have a/c? I would like it for hpde but Indiana is humid in the summer.

My first car was a 1985 CRX and then a 1988 CRX HF with Si swap

No room in the engine compartment for a compressor or related parts. Its a tight fit. No AC. It doesn't even have a radio. The heater works though. It got 115 here two summers ago, and its over 95 for most of the summer. Roll down the windows and drive faster.

The "squeaks and rattles" are mostly from the dash. When I took out the SI dash from the donor car it had foam tape from Honda at the dash to body contact points that was coming apart with age. Not much made the transfer. In hind sight I should have replaced that with new. If I keep it that's the plan.
