Hello!
I have a 1988 245 for sale. I have had it about a year and a half and made it mechanically reliable over the course of that time, but I just bought a nicer 245 to replace it so this one needs to move on. I would summarize it as a “Daily hooptie.” There are a lot of cons but I would drive it cross country. That said “I” would do that, but it’s not the best idea. Car is Gray with “Carmel and Black” Interior. Car is in south Central Indiana.
Good
-M47
-New cooling system
-New blower motor
-New timing belt
-New front brake lines, hose, and calipers
-New motor mounts and trans mount
-New Timing belt
-New front seals
-Newer Tires
-odo gear replacement
-New cap, rotor, plugs, wires
-Runs great no major leaks
-Shifts good for an M47 (must be a replacement at some point)
- Everything pretty much works in a functional sense
-New rack, inner, and outer tie rods
Bad
-Rust! Midwest rusty (Holes)
-260+ k miles I got it with inop odo probably over 300k or more
-interior is rough drivers seat is falling apart
-Carrier bearing sounds like a Banshee until it warms up
-ac inop (Still r12)
I am sure there is more but that’s what I can recall at the moment. I’ll have to host pictures to post them.
Let me know if you have questions. Would make a good beater or cheap “intro” 240. I would like to get $2000 for it, but I’m open to offers and trades. I am into LS stuff, turbo stuff, Volvo stuff, wheels etc. if you might have parts as a partial trade.
Thanks!
Gary
