Car has been setting for awhile. The keyway on the crankshaft needs to be repaired. Otherwise the car ran well with an upgraded turbo & ECU. Steal it for $500 ....for the 2019 Challenge? Located in Plymouth Michigan.

No, it is not running at present. The keyway in the crankshaft was damaged when the crankshaft pulley bolt came loose. This would probably require that the engine be torn down to repair the crank. I do have a spare engine for it that is negotiable. I do have a manual for it and wiring diagrams. The car needs a lot of work but not necessarily a lot of money. It was a fun car when it was running. Handled pretty good in the twistys.
About 13 or so years ago, Mrs Logdog and I did a fly and drive from Ohio to Maine so I could get one of these. It was one of those "brother of a friend's girlfriend" type deals for 50 bucks. The car wouldn't pass inspection (very heavily rusted) but I wanted the engine for a Festiva swap. The trip went well enough (It was October so plenty of cold and rain) and duct tape was the only thing I needed to fix issues that popped up on the way (LOTS of roof leaks). I spend several months trying to find a good Festiva but the ones in good non-rusty shape were commanding big bucks due to gas prices. I ended up scrapping the plans when I went back to school, then I changed careers and moved a couple times.
Not completing that swap is my second biggest regret in life (behind eating a burrito that was bigger than my head).

Actually, i was doing the same thing. I bought the Capri so that i would have a complete car to transfer the powertrain to a Festiva of which i have two. I also have a powertrain in pieces from a Capri so the Car I bought was a "how to" for putting the spare powertrain in the Festiva. Well, i rebuilt the powertrain for my stock Fuel-stiva and lowered the suspension and i am still fiddling with that and getting 50 mpg (hedge against high fuel prices!) but i never got to putting the Capri powertrain in the second Festiva. In the meantime my son was driving the Capri while he was in high school and we upgraded the turbo and the PCM and replaced the exhaust manifold and it was running pretty good up until the crank pulley came loose. Now i could work on a Fast-stiva but I've decided that i have a few too many projects and so i am trying to sell the Capri. If someone wanted to take over the "Fast-tiva" project that would be something that could be worked out. An interesting project if you have the time..... :)
