SOLD
It's time to sell the Miata. I'm only going to advertise it on here. $4500.00 Will trade for a Triumph Spitfire or old Army jeep If that is not GRMish, Let me know. I trust y'all.
1997 Miata Touring package. 216044 miles.
I bought it from the second owner on 8/13/2011 with 136682 miles and it was bought new in Atlanta. It has been in the south since-No rust.
I drove it stock up until 2018 or so and then started modifying it for HPDE days. The engine and transmission are stock and in great condition.
It has:
-Factory Hardtop (was black professionally painted blue mica)
-Energy control arm bushings with grease fittings
-FM VMaxx clasic suspension
-Stainless steel brake lines
-Hard Dog single diagonal roll bar
-Hard Dog door bars (Huge difference in stiffness)
-SS clutch line
-G-Loc 10 brake pads
-Poly rear swaybar bushings (stock rear bar)
-P/S delete
-Cold air box with NACA duct
-Motul brake and clutch fluid
-Redline trans and diff oil.
-FM master cylinder brace (makes a big difference in brake feel)
-poly diff bushings
-Ultrashield Rally Sport seat with back brace
-TDR seat mount
-Speedway Motors 5 pt. harness (old)
-Torsen with 4:30 gears
-Koyo aluminum radiator
-Racing Beat 54105 front sway bar with brace blocks
-949 front sway bar end links
-catch can
-Wilwood proportioning valve with remote
-Inovate air/fuel gauge
-15x8 6Ul's in Tungsten
-Bridgestone RE 71's
I think that is it. I have a good 6 speed transmission that will go with it. Also an engine that I got for future boost use.
The extra engine: 1999 BP4W balanced and blueprinted by Crankshaft Specialties of Memphis, Eagle rods, 9:1 forged pistons, ACL bearings, HKS gaskets, ARP head studs, head work done by Harris Quan, 560 cc injectors, Mazda comp motor mounts. The block is KIA. The previous owner had the engine in his Miata that was wrecked and said it had 9500 miles on it since the rebuild. I have no reason to doubt this. I heard it run when I bought the parts car and drove it on the trailer. He pulled his Megasquirt and that was it. I put a little ATF in the cylinders and roll it over every now and then.
This Miata has probably passed the tipping point of being put back to street use. However, I would go straight to the track from here with a stop for gas and have a blast.
-The check engine light is on because the ecu is not getting the O2 heater signal. The Inovate gauge is sending the info to the computer, though.
-The paint is chipped and the clear coat on the hood starting to go away.
-The right fender is dinged.
-Wouldn't hurt to have a wind sheild
-The a/c from the firewall forward is gone
-No headlights or motors. I have get home headlights in the front turn signal lenses.
-No wiper motor or linkages
-No carpet -No convertible top or frame
That's all I can think of right now. Thanks!
