NMNA. Seems like a good deal though!

http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5533846421.html

Let's start this ad by saying: This is my car. I built it. I get to ask whatever price I'd like because I built it. It has my blood sweat and tears, not yours. So please don't contact me with a offer that is not my asking price, nor do I want to be informed of what you think the car is worth. Only the properly funded buyer may call me to arrange a showing of the car. I do not want your car instead of money. I do not want your quad instead of money. I do not want your PlayStation instead of money. I would like to sell this car for USD. I will not ship you this car. You must show up in person and shake my hand in order to purchase this car. Why am I selling: I bought a full fledged race car. Still with me? Great! Please read the excellent description below:

For sale is my 2001 Mazda Miata LS with 99,7xx miles. I'm selling it for $5,500 which is a wheel of deal. In fact, it is likely the sale of the century. It's an amazing daily driver and track day ready car. It's unbelievably nimble, smooth, and good looking -- just like me. It is my summer daily driver and as such has escaped the typical Miata rust issues. I dare say the chassis is rust free! As you can see from the photos, it's a little nicked up from it's track day duties. Did I mention it was a capable track day?

In the last year I have set the car up for track usage. It is wonderfully balanced, and it takes your steering input and blasts you down the track like a homing missile. I am not embellishing. This street car is capable of passing Spec Miatas, and as soon as I figure out how to do some video editing I will post a few videos of me lapping a Spec Miata at two different race tracks!

So, if you want a capable, comfortable, and stylish NB Miata with VVT, then come have a look at my Miata. If you want a show car that has a few bolt ons, do not come and look at this Miata. I built the car to be "hellafunctional" not "hellaflush" or "hardparked" or any other "hella" things. For those of you who don't like the narrative, below is a list of things I've done to the car in the last year and two thousand miles or so. You get all the factory interior parts that I took off so that if you'd like to you can revert the interior to stock. The cruise control works great. The A/C works as well*

At the end of the ad I will list a couple of optional items that you may purchase for a one time steal of deal. If you don't want to spend the extra money, that's cool too, I'll list the parts online for market value. You can buy the car as described for $5500.

WARNING: If you buy this car you may very well get addicted to track days.

Included Equipment: 2001 Mazda Miata LS LSD Torsen Differential (Limited Slip Differential) 6 Speed Manual Transmission Flying Miata Sport Coilovers (Vmaxx adjustable ride height, static dampening) Hawk Pads and new OE Rotors on the front OE Pads and new OE Rotors on the rear (better trail braking setup for the track) Boss Frog double diagonal roll bar Genuine Typhoon CAI (Cold Air Intake) Genuine Mazda Hardtop (hard top with headliner, no defrost) Moda Wheels -- near perfect condition pictured in the glossy artsy photo and the close up S-Drive Tires -- about 60 percent tread left

Recent Service: Aligned before storage for winter. You can have the receipt with lifetime alignment at Firestone. New timing belt and water pump New crank and cam seals New VVT seal New valve cover gasket New Redline racing oil in the transmission and differential New high temp brake fluid and full flush and bleed Full flush and bleed of clutch master and slave cylinder New high temp power steering fluid and flush

The sad: Hit some tires off track and cracked the front bumper. It has been repaired and looks awesome, in my opinion. I have put the front valence on for photos, but I actually race with it off. You do get it with the car! The AC does work great. However, I bent a line and it has a pinhole leak. Midwest Miata Parts in Grove City has the replacement line and it is very affordable. It goes on with 10mm nuts in 5 minutes. I think I even have a can of refrigerant you can have with the car so you can refill it after you replace the line. The soft top is not great. It keeps water out, but it has been patched and doesn't look good. I generally leave the hard top on because it saves you time on the track thanks to aerodynamics. I am not going to send you photos of the soft top, because it is ugly. It does have defrost and it does keep water out, for the most part. The hard top is visually rough. I bought it from a junk yard in the beat up condition you see in the photos. It is water tight.

Optional Equipment you must pay more for if you want it: $750 (Retails for $1175) - 15x9 Matte Gray Advanti Storm S1 Wheels with Hankook RS3 Tires. (Pictured in all the walk around photos). If you don't know about Miata wheels and tires, search for this on Miata.net. I cannot stress to you how amazing of a combination this. As the tire wears, it becomes more like a racing tire. I have only done 3 events on these tires. They will last you another fifteen before they get into racing slick mode.

$350 (Retails for $485) -- Genuine Mazda NB Front bumper. Still in its protective shipping box and wrap. This bumper is a unicorn find. If you can even find a dealer with one in stock, they typically mark them up like crazy because you cannot get these.

If you've read all that and you are still interested in the car, I'd love you meet you! I am not flexible on the pricing. If you follow Miatas, you are already aware this is a substantially good deal for a car with this arrangement. At this time, I will not separate any of the items in this ad until the car sells.

I saw that elsewhere and had to read it several times before I figured out it wasn't a $6500 LS6 Miata.

FM owns a Miata LS with an LS. But most of them are not that cool.

Looks like a decent buy for someone looking to get into track work.

Seems like a reasonably good deal. The begging of that ad sounds a bit confrontational! I get it though - selling stuff on craigslist can be a chore.

Did anyone else cringe at the harness with the stock seat?
