I have owned the car since 2009 when it had 125k miles. It has been super reliable, really only needing regular maintenance. This car has been a California car its whole life. It has never seen snow or road salt so the underside is super clean. I can take some photos for anyone interested, just PM me.
Since then I have done the following major maintenance/upgrades:
- Oil changes always with Mobil 1 full synthetic: every 5-7.5k miles
- Timing belt(s): 125k and 175k
- Aux belt, water pump, pulleys and tensioner: 125k and 175k
- Ford Racing Focus Rally rims and Conti DW tires: 135k
- Hawk HPS pads, Centric Rotors and OEM front calipers: 150k
- Wheel bearings and hubs (front and rear): 160k
- Koni Yellow struts/shocks & H&R race springs: 160k
- Prothane Urethane suspension bushings: 160k
- Stainless steel brake hoses: 160k
- Front lower control arms with ball joins: 160k
- Inner and outer tie rods: 160k
- Front sway bar end links: 160k
- Braille B129 battery: 170k
- OEM spark plugs: 170k
- Magnaflow Exhaust: installed by previous owner.
Included in the sale are the following:
- OEM SVT rims and very worn tires
- Stainless steel header of unknown origin from previous owner
- Aluminum flywheel (again of unknown origin from previous owner)
- Timing tools for timing belt.
- Any other miscellaneous SVT parts I have lying around the garage and basement
The only issues with the car is that there appears to have been a small oil leak into the cooling system and some peeling clear coat on the rear spoiler. There is still a little oil residue in the coolant expansion tank, but I haven t seen any sludgy buildup in the oil ever. Currently there is a small bead of oil around the edge of the coolant in the tank about 1/8" across.
The car has been in two minor rear-end accidents during my time owning it. Both times I was hit from behind at relatively slow speeds. Both times required a little repair work, mostly to the rear bumper cover.
The car is a blast to drive, especially with the tightened suspension. I am sad to see it go, but I am hopeful that I can sell it to someone who will take care of it and enjoy it as much as I have. Post or PM me with any questions.
