SOLD!
I've kind of hit the end of my rope with this. I stopped riding anyway, and was planning on selling it, but I cannot get it running right.
It's a bit of a frankenstein. The chassis is a 2006 Genuine Buddy 125 with 17K miles on it. I swapped in an engine from a 2008 Buddy 150, including the oil cooler. It was supposed to have less than 5K miles on it, and from how it looks, I believe it. It is a mishmash of body panels, including a larger headlight assembly from a later buddy, and a pretty cool 1980s top case from a Honda. I have the title, and it is in my name.
So, what's wrong with it? After sitting in the garage for several years, I can't get it to idle consistently below 3000 RPM, I need to start it with starting fluid, and last time I rode it, it was not overly happy. I have cleaned and swapped out carbs, swapped out the coil, CDI, and stator, checked compression (120 psi cold), checked valve lash, and checked the coil wiring. When I used to ride, it was a little hard starting after it had been sitting for a long while, but never like this. More details in this build thread.
I will also include a bunch of aftermarket suspension goodies, a spare carb, a near complete spare set of body panels, the original headlight assembly, and whatever else I can find in storage that I don't think I'll need for a different project. Tires have good tread, but are old, so probably alright for pit bike duty, but not high speeds. I'll include another set of (also old, but stored in the dark) tires. Currently has a stainless performance exhaust on it, but if you'd prefer, I can switch it back to a stock exhaust. Oh yeah, the sticker bombing on the front panel should be easy to remove, as I sprayed it with plastidip before doing it. You can hear it run, but due to how it is acting, I really don't want to let anyone try to ride it.
Located in SW Ohio. $500 firm. Any less than that, and I may as well keep futzing with it until I get it running right. I'd rather not be holding on to this very long, so priority goes to whoever can come get it and its parts first.
