Well - the Saab sold as quickly as I thought - so - next up in the hurricane reduction program....
Some of you may remember the car from here: https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/cars-sale/2006-infiniti-g35-sedan-164k-miles-manual-trans/187344/page1/
That's right - following in the footsteps of the previous owner - I've put 3k miles on in almost 3 years.
Also - pictures (it looks exactly the same) and receipts to follow - but you'll want this car if you're even considering any other G35 6MT.
Let's get to the Good/Bad:
Good:
1. Look at the receipt and mileage for the new clutch and sensors. Yeah - the PO did that right before he sold it.
2. I bought it as I was going to commute to Charlotte every day - so - I bought and had installed OEM (yeah - Nissan!): Valve covers w/gaskets, pulleys, belts, coil packs, plugs, tensioner, racing radiator (ha - becuase 110 degree commute in summer) and high flow thermostat (mistake - I'll tell you why in the bad section). Receipt for labor ONLY to install is below - I can find all other receipts for the parts - probably.
3. Always starts - runs - drives - and is a riot on the back country roads around Charlotte. Smooth - fast - fun. AC is ice cold. Heat is hot. Seat warmers work. Sunroof works but is sloooow.
4. Parts/labor exceed what I'm asking. The car is free really. Yeah - I'm hoping one of you believes that.
5. As I mentioned in the Saab ad - true for this car - zero rust. Southern car.
Bad:
1. I mean - the interior still has tears in the seats and door panel trim that I was too lazy to glue. Maybe you'll do better.
2. Radio has... Issues. There are a Fat Boys (don't judge), Mariah Cary, and maybe Journey (idk actually) CD stuck in there - it does eject at times - but hey, listening to the original beat box by Fat Boys - non stop - is worth the price of the car.
3. Cruise works when it wants to.
4. Gas gauge works when it wants to.
5. Probably needs front shocks - or - avoid all bumps when driving.
6. Does have an oil....... drip. I've been chasing it - thought it was the famous oil filter cooler gasket - but - I changed that. Still has the drip right onto the exhaust (of course). You never notice until you're getting your Starbucks at the window - and - yeah - I smell it then. Uses ZERO oil - but then - I rarely drive it. Still - in 3k miles - it doesn't move from full and you see no drops. IF I had to guess? RMS is leaking. I'd guess.
7. The "racing" thermostat. Yeah - well..... While GREAT in the summer for this area - in the winter it (can you guess - can you?) takes too long according to the computer to warm up - and - throws a code. So - yeah. Needs changed back to OEM - or - live with the code in the winter.
Whew. That's it.
