2008 Grand Marquis Panther in Ottawa Canada (Mine)

This is a 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis that was sold new to the Toronto North RCMP detachment,  I’m the second owner and have had the car for just over four years. This Panther is the “LS Ultimate Edition” and is finished in black over grey cloth with front bench seat, the car now shows 133,000 km (83K miles) and is powered by an 4.6-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission.

Features include police steel wheels with one year old snow tires (Blizzak WS90 235/55R17) and all the usual power locks, keyless entry, power-adjustable front seats, factory stereo, etc. Air conditioning blows cold, heater blows hot, windows tinted from factory. No rips/holes in the interior and no rust in the body, a few dings here and there of course. No holes in roof, trunk or pillars, it was a convoy escort vehicle. Serviced at independent garage with service records dating back to 2016.

I had the air suspension compressor replaced in Feb 2018 at a cost of $600 but it still shows the “service air suspension” warning at times, mechanic said might be a sensor but I never bothered with it since it works perfectly. I also have the original aluminum wheels (pictured below) but the chrome paint is peeling and those tires are in need of replacement.

A few other small things like driver side power door lock sticks in winter, no TPS for police wheels, and small divot in windshield (no cracking). It has traction control, but no limited slip differential, I have driven it through four Ottawa winters and never been stuck.

I've driven this car, I was impressed by the quality of the steering. I didn't realize Panthers ever got that good.

I can vouch for the seller, I've known him very well for...yikes, 24 years? The car has some interesting backstory, it's quite probable it was used for diplomat transport based on the RCMP group that owned it. You can sit where Angela Merkel sat!

I do love me a good panther, and this one is sweet with low miles and an interesting history. For those of us in the US, it's about $3500USD. Very fair price for the condition. Too bad I'm out of funds till the end of the year and the border is currently closed...
