Been sitting 30 years, but might be a decent project start for somebody...

That's tempting. It's surprisingly a roomy car inside for a taller driver. I've never driven one, though, but it does seem like fun.

I was thinking 'Oooh, 2.4L EcoTech swap candidate' before I clicked on the link and saw the engine bay...

I like it. There's a guy near me with a few in his yard. Been meaning to stop and introduce myself for months. 

Random story: It was 1986 and I was 16 years old, looking to buy a car to replace my fine 1971 Vega Estate wagon. I found an Opel GT for $200. It had fresh DuPont Imron paint (remember when that was a big deal), a fresh engine rebuild, and no interior. The interior was all in boxes and needed love. I test drove it sitting on a milk crate. It was a casualty of a divorce and had to go ASAP. 

Mom wouldn't let me buy it! I'm not sure I've ever really forgiven her for that. :)
