Our next-door neighbor had a Hampstead Green Accord hatch with a stick.

I'm not sure what it is, but the older I get, the cooler old-school "normal" cars get.

Oh, totally. Back in the day, for example, we didn’t care about old station wagons. They were embarrassing to drive, in fact. (Ugh, the family truckster.)

When we had our ’75 Pontiac a few years back, we got comments all the time.

If I'm not mistaken, I seem to remember that these autos were 2 speed. Yeah, only 2 gears.  I think the speedometer is showing that the shift to 2nd gear will happen at 25 mph or before.    80 mph is highly optimistic.  But, this was the age of 55 mph limit.

IIRC, the early Hondamatics were indeed two speed, but  despite the name, required manual shifting.  There was a low speed gear and a high speed gear, you had to move the selector to the high speed position for highway cruising. I can't imagine how slow they were.  According (hah) to my book, by the time 1980 rolled around for the US market, the automatic was a 3 spd.

I can't speak for the automatics, but the 5 speeds Accords of this generation could absolutely peg the 85 MPH speedo.
