Linkey-no-workey. I had one of these in high school (1996) and it was unstoppable in the snow. I'd love to have another one.
Since that one is gone either sold or unlisted, here's an alltrac Corolla on the book-of-faces. These were almost as cool as the Tercel wagons.
In reply to Hoondavan :
That tercel was so cheap. Not surprised it disappeared. The Corolla alltrac is beyond cool as it was related to the Celica alltrac. Japanese did some seriously cool stuff in the 80s and 90s
Me too. My sister had a Corolla alltrack w/full time AWD and a 5-speed manual. I drove it a bit. It didn't feel as "solid" as my tercel wagon, but felt a bit faster. It eventually became my younger brother's first car and he had a few offroad adventures with it (one unintentional) so it was pretty beat up. It had issues with the transfer case and eventually was gifted to a neighbor who used it as a field car. It continued to be awesome fording streams, jumping berms, etc. for a while longer. I used to see a grey corolla alltrac in my work parking lot. I was tempted to leave a note on it for years. Eventually it was posted for sale on CL with mechanical issues for a stupid high price.
My 87 Tercel was my father's car, then my older sister's car, then mine when she left for college. It's crazy to think it was only 10 years old and was soooo rusty. Fun fact about The Tercel wagon was that it was actually a 6-speed with a granny gear in 4WD. My father bought a giant plastic snowplow and used it to clear our driveway.
Less interesting (FWD, auto) but still not very common: 92 Camry wagon, 300k miles!, asking $2500. I did not know those had 2x rear wipers.
