Or that they probably doubled the HP but are still using the 914 brake calipers / rotors

I had those wheels on my old Dakota, they were cool on it in 1999.....
This car proves my point on engine swapping 914's with non-Porsche motors
Looks decent, but 5K? One in similar condition with a little 1.7 stock motor would sell for 2-3 times more if not rusted to death.

Proves my point on wanting an engine swapped 914. I looked at that and said I'd drive the E36 M3 out of that after fixing the flywheel and replacing the wheels.

Do it!
Duster, your wheels came in, someone stuck them on this Porsche.
I assume this thing is running 4 bolt Porsche to 5 bolt Chevy adapters. Any doubters?
Looks not awful though? Like yeah I don't like the V8 swap but this might not be a bad project. I don't know what this should be priced at, if this is decent or dumb.

I generally think the same way but there is a local gentleman that has a 914 with a subaru sti engine in it. I think that one is neat because flat engine and all that jazz.
I'm kind of like it, I think the price seems reasonable for 914's these days, regardless of engine choice. Also I dig the 90's wheels.

Totally agree that is a worthwhile project, and I agree it would be a ton of fun for 5K. Go for it!

This, very much this.
Even a mild 350 would be a pretty big upgrade really. Plus it'll piss off the super Porsche fanbois, who frankly are already pissed off by the 914 even existing.
So actually......maybe gain their respect? Is that good?
