Mine was $800 and is not crusty, and is the LT1! Granted it doesn't run, but I had it running!

Just keep in mind MPG. These, especially the LT1s, weren't exactly fuel sippers.

Absolutely! I still have high hopes for the gas sipper, despite not getting the chance to call ya yesterday (layed around all day on my day off)
The wagon fits into the bad decision (but maybe) category, only because our Sunday car is her aunts 94 Roadmaster sedan (orig. owner) She does not do much city miles, and not every day, so getting 16 mpg, for a few dozen miles a week don't hurt as much, and the dogs would like the wagon 
No worries. My place has plenty of bad decision cars. Like my 06 M5. Truly a love/hate relationship there. Lol
