i went down to the crossroads, to make a deal with the devil,
er,
to the junkyard, to check out the VEE12
it looks okay... does anyone want a V-12?
lkq charges 272 for a gas engine..
somebody got the throttle bodies and the 3 ECU boxes.. but nobody in their right minds wants those anyway
looks like somebody made a vain attempt recently to get it to run... notice the new distributor caps

i must be on the wrong forum...
Most of us would buy a running driving donor to salvage all the hard to find parts and sell off extra parts to recoup to zero.

I brought that exact vee-12 to the challenge a few years back. It came in a running and driving (albiet not well) vehicle for $1100.
They're good for torque but not really hp. The exhaust value design was done for economy on the Autobahn and therefore it's too shrouded and at a bad angle for making more hp.
I'd still love to do one in a hotrod, but now that I own a jaguar my next v12 might be one with more "personality".
Would a turbo or super charger help with the shrouded valves problem?

Oh my. EdHigginbotham
we are going to be out. In my truck. Not too far.
I don't need this or have a purpose for it.

Yeah, I just ran the auto. I even found an old dinan chip for it on eBay but I couldn't get the ecu case apart to install it (it was last minute and I was very afraid if breaking the ecu).
Low 15s in the drags iirc, but I was on a7s. I was the fastest autox BMW that year, beating an E30, an e46, and I think an e34. (Also probably because of the a7s).
wait, robbie,
are you the guy who ran a bunch of jag v12's in Lemons and other stuff?
