2003 Subaru Impreza WRX (2.0l turbo)

Location: Sacramento, CA

Price: $3500

Mileage: 226,913

Transmission: 5-speed manual

Description: This is my 2003 WRX. I’m the third owner. In 2011, I bought it from my friend after he overheated the engine (turbo coolant hose burst and he didn’t realize it). I replaced the original engine with an engine from an importer (I think it’s a EJ205), swapped over all the needed CARB parts, passed smog and drove it as a daily driver for years.

A couple years ago, after noticing more hoses were cracked/potentially about to burst, and both valve covers were leaking, I decided to remove the engine and replace all the hoses, gaskets, etc. While the motor was out I did a leakdown test, and while it wasn’t horrible, it was out of spec, and at that time, I couldn’t quite bring myself to pay for a rebuild, when I have two other project cars. I would guess that the motor may have around 80-100k miles on it? Never overheated or beat on it; it’s just tired. The transmission was also making unhealthy noises during deceleration.

The car has never been in an accident, the scrapes you see on the bumper are from living in a city where people can’t parallel park.

It’s been sitting in my garage since 2022. I’ve still got too many other projects, and I want the space back.

The car comes with two sets of wheels and tires:

  1. Silver 5x100 2004 STi wheels tires
  2. Generic 16in subaru tires with Bridgestone WS70 snow tires with about 90% tread.

TLDR: WRX roller that will need a motor and tranny rebuild. Title in-hand.
