Part of me is wondering...
1. Fly to WI; buy car.
2. Drive to nearest H-F; buy welder and some other tools.
3. Drive to nearest Lowes-Depot; buy steel bits.
4. Find willing driveway & power; Fix enough of the rust to make the car (reasonably) safe to drive home.

Milwaukee is about an hour away from me. There is a hazard Fraught store 10 minutes from me. I have a 6 car driveway and tools. Seriously, let's make thos happen.

I'm driving to Chicago on Sunday and could bring my trailer although I'm not sure how it would work to street park a trailer in Chicago for a few days.

I live in Milwaukee, so just to tempt you. I know the nearest harbor freight to this car is about 10 min away max
