$1000 in recoup should be easy as well. Make the mid-engine kart the challenge deserves

I don't think it's too good to be true. I see an easy couple thousand dollars in repairs to get it in good condition for the typical buyer. That puts it into the range of a decent functioning car unless you have a cheap parts source and DIY. It looks to be easily worth the money for parts value if the engine is good.
