"For Sale is a former SCCA Pro Rally Car.

It is a 1988 Mazda 323 GTX (AWD 1,6L Turbo) that was purchased new and taken to Rod Millen to turn into a Pro Rally Car. It was never registered and has only 6500 miles. The car needs an engine rebuild. It has a larger turbo and should have all the engine parts. It also has 6 Panasport wheels with rally tires. The wheels alone are worth about $800. I was told it has three Quaif differentials. I was also told that when it ran Group B that it had over 300HP, which might be a stretch, but no doubt it was fast.

I bought it to rebuild but I am losing my storage space and between kids and my other projects I simply won't get to it in time.

This IS a project and it does not run. It is missing seats, steering wheel, and rear wing. That said its a part of racing history and should be rebuilt."

I think that's the same one that was for sale in Ohio a couple years ago. I am both happy and sad I didn't buy it then.

What the hell is with Milwaukee and old obscure Mazdas? There is/was an old IMSA MX6 up there for sale for years, too.

This GTX if prepped by Millen might be running an old HKS PFC FCON as well.

Dude for real, there's something about southern Wisconsin and old Mazdas (Black Hawk Farms related?). There's a really clean 1.8 V6 MX-3 for sale in Milwaukee right now, I've seen decent, slightly-tuned old FWD 323s, there's a guy who does trackdays at BHF in a stripped and prep'd Protege5...

wow, what a find. The windshield kinda looks shattered, cant quite tell. There does look to be a cage in it though. I do not need another car! I do not need another car!

Also, its closer to rockford il than madison or milwaukee according to the map on CL.

Pretty sure that's cage less. It popped up on my radar a while back and had an interior picture.

maybe not a full cage, but there are bars going up through the dash, and then the bar along the door sill. Can't really see much else.

Yeah, I was on my phone and for some reason that was the only picture that would not show up. That cage would need a LOT of updating to be legal.

That car is probably worth more in parts if the transmission works.

Also 300hp is probably a stretch, most gtx rally cars I used to see advertised back in the day claimed 250hp or less. The ad seems oddly silent about the transmission...
