I've come to the realization that with how much driving I do, it makes more sense to split daily driving and towing duties across two different vehicles. With that said, it's unfortunately time to sell the Jeep.

Craigslist ad has more details, but here's the summary:

-Loaded with pretty much every option you could get from the factory

-3.0L turbo diesel. 181,000 miles.

-Quadra-Drive II has electronic limited slip differentials front and rear

-Bilstein shocks/struts

-Hankook all-terrain tires

-GDE Eco Tune (with DPF delete)

-Replaced all 4 front control arms/ball joints last summer.

-Shockingly rust free

It pains me to sell this thing because it has been an awesome daily and general "do anything, go anywhere" vehicle. However, I've put over 26,000 miles on it in the last year, and while it gets good fuel economy for its size (22 city, 25 hwy), I think I need to step down to a smaller daily.

I'm happy to answer any questions about it or set up a meeting. Price is negotiable in person.

Dang, that's nice. And the QD-II is a good system

How about $10k for the GRM crowd?

So what have the Craigsloonies been offering?   Just curious.  I wasn't familiar with this model, but I do like it.  I'm just afraid of a Chrysler, especially one that's been in MI winters.

Fair amount of interest, but no one has come by to look at it/make an offer yet.

I had a similar concern about it being a Chrysler, but the Mercedes powertrain gave me a bit of reassurance. For what it's worth, I bought the car in Iowa and brought it back, but if I recall the carfax it did start life in Michigan. I can't speak to how many winters it has been through in Michigan, but I will say it is surprisingly rust-free for a michigan-based Chrysler product.

Yep, I towed my racecar with it a handful of times and it had no issues at all. Plenty of torque and trans temp never got over 180F.

I just don't tow frequently enough to justify having this as a daily, so I'd like to sell it and replace it with an older truck/van for towing and something small/fun to daily drive.

I believe that's the MB OM642 diesel.  I've got the slightly newer, but basically the same, engine in my car and it tows amazingly well.  If you're looking for a tow pig, you'll be quite happy with this.

I didn’t realize it was the MB engine.  I thought it was the VM Morini or whatever it’s called

Correct, 2007-2008 Grand Cherokees used the OM642 diesel engine as part of the Diamler-Chrysler partnership.

The following generation of Grand Cherokee had the VM Motori diesel from Fiat. Both 3 liter common rail diesels, very different manufacturers.

I know diesels are long runners, but is this considered high miles for a Jeep GC? Would you guys expect any major overhauls needed soon? Looking at a local 03 Lexus GX470 with only 105k, but this truck is probably better in almost everyway aside from being a Chrysler product, and I despise black wheels.

Realistically, I think this is higher miles for just about anything. That said, I think you're spot on that diesels tend to be fairly robust and honestly this one doesn't drive look/feel like it has that many miles. I'm hoping someone else can chime in with any experience because I'm obviously a bit biased and don't want you to feel like I'm giving you a standard "used car salesman" pitch or something.

Personally, I don't foresee it needing any major overhauls any time soon. I bought it with the intention of keeping it for a long time, but unfortunately my work circumstances changed shortly after buying it and I just don't think it makes much sense to keep it at this point. If you're local, you're more than welcome to come take a look yourself.
