Build Log https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/free-raffle-car-q45-2020-challenge/162437/page1/
Kurt and I have decided it is time to move this alone as we just don't have time to keep working on it. I am thinking to be challenge fair we need to sell this for the cost of the materials we have put in it, so that it is challenge budget accurate. Currently that would be $535.36 for the steel we have installed, front C4 suspension, and seats. I have other parts that you could choose to purchase or not, and my thought is to sell this at the same price I put in my budget so prospective new owner can pick and choose what they want.
I anyone has a different plan or idea I am open to it, not looking to make any money but don't want to cause a challenge issue.
I talked to Indy-Guy a little about this. Just in case someone researches 2002 Q45 I wanted to let everyone know that the rear diff was swapped by me. It has a 3.57 LSD out of a 350z now. That rear should be able to handle 600hp and has better gearing than the stock one.
In reply to Stampie :
I'd like to take this one on as my next project, but it would be at the expense of completing the TR-amp.
Regretfully I'm going to pass.
I know there was some interest in the engine, it was confirmed a blown head gasket. Motor was torn down but not reassembled. I have the head gasket kit and head bolts to put it back together. Make me an offer if anyone is interested.
Other parts that could be of interest Rear Diff, C4 front a arms (cross member welded in) with new ball joints. C4 rack and steering column.
No offer unreasonable.
OK I am going to give this one more try and then I think we are going to the scrap yard as I need the room. So current build without the C5 wheels (bring your own rollers) free to good home.
I have new ball joints for the C4 front end I will toss in, gasket and head bolt kit for the engine and any other Q45 parts still around.
Potential extras:
C5 wheels - $200
Shocks, QA1 rebuildable shocks $300 for 4, no springs but I have a valving kit so you can value these anyway you want.
No need to take any of the extras, if you want the project come get it.
What state are you located in?
arrrgh. This is a real potential challenge winner right here!!
In reply to GIRTHQUAKE :
I am in Orlando but could deliver to challenge if a relay gets it where it needs to go. I would rather see it finished than cut up for scrap.

It placed 11th with 1200 more pounds on it.
In reply to Fladiver64 (Forum Supporter) :
if it goes away without the spares, i'll buy those C4 ball joints.
In reply to Fladiver64 (Forum Supporter) :
I am sadly, half the nation away.
In reply to Curtis73 (Forum Supporter) :
I'm pretty sure you've picked up a car at the Challenge before.
In reply to Stampie :
I'm gonna need a bigger trailer.
In reply to Curtis73 (Forum Supporter) :
Wanna borrow mine? I'm pretty sure this will fit on it.
I have to see what I'm taking down. I think captdownshift will want me to trailer the Escort Service, and if that doesn't happen I'm going to try to get a relay going for someone to bring my boat from TX to the challenge so I can get it home.
1/2 ton van + three car trailer = bad death
In reply to Curtis73 (Forum Supporter) :
Things can be worked out. Pretty sure I could get it to Charlotte area Thanksgiving time. Michael's wife loves when we have random car guys reunion in his driveway.
