My son and I have been working on our Challenge car since early 2021. It took us a while because I ended up on a work assignment for 4 months last fall, meaning we missed the 2021 Challenge. We bought the car from a guy here in Gainesville who had stanced it - correctly (i.e. used really nice parts and modifying things appropriately). We've been slowing getting it ready for the Challenge and are excited to see what it can do! That said, it is not a car we planned on keeping long term. I have a quick list of the major things we've done to it below. I don't have pictures of it in its current state but am happy to field questions.
2005 GTI
Rear interior stripped (but still in our possession)
Front quarterpanels are rough from it running super low
Engine has a tune from the PO
Headers
Straight exhaust
17" Enkei wheels
225/45/17 Falken Azenis RT660 (brand new)
H&R springs/Bilstein shocks
New rotors
New pads
New (reman) calipers
New soft brake lines
New rear hubs
Front swaybar from Mk4 337 GTI
25mm Neuspeed rear swaybar
Front subframe brace from Audi TT
LCAs with solid bushings
Oil change
Brake flush
Timing belt done
First Drive
This is a picture from early on, before we changed the suspension, etc.
When you say straight exhaust, you mean no cats or anything? I presume it has the obligatory CEL?

Yes and yes. I imagine that could be rectified with a more street friendly exhaust set up though.
Bump. Forgot that it will come will additional parts.
2 older Momo race seats
Aftermarket front mount intercooler
Brand new CSF aluminum radiator
All new cooling hoses
Results are in - 2nd place autocross, 3rd place drags, 3rd place concours!
Congratulations on the good showing. GLWS

Thanks. I feel honored to have lost the autocross to the LMP 360!

Congrats on your Challenge results! Do you have any current pics of the car as it sits? I'm looking for something interesting for my boys and this might be a good solution... Happy to DM if you would prefer. Thanks!
Have the front fenders been rolled?

They've definitely been 'touched'. Either intentionally or by virtue of its former stanced life. Here are some closeups.

Thanks for the pics - let me run it past the boys and see what they have to say
