Found this while looking for something else, and thought that this might scratch an itch for someone here: https://www.mecum.com/lots/1110848/2006-ford-f150-pickup/

TL;DR:

  • 2006 Ford F-150
  • 54,000 miles
  • 4.2-liter V6
  • 5-speed manual

Those were our typical company truck for many years.  For some reason, most of them made a screeching vibration shifting from first to second gear.

Just about exactly what I've been looking for -but too nice and, probably, too expensive for me. (I have a lead on something similar for around $2500...).

(Too nice for throwing mulch and gravel into that bed...)

For $6-8K, I think that would be a great work truck.  A collector car auction is not my preferred way to buy one of those.

Also, the V6/MT had a pretty low tow rating (3600lbs) compared to the 5.4L/auto (9800lbs).

Sold for $9350 (I'm assuming plus auction fees).  Not a terrible price, sounds like the seller got all the money for a nicely preserved truck and the buyer got a very nice example.  Cool!
