The seller is clear about a few flaws, the most notable being frame damage from accident(s) with a previous owner and a slight 3rd gear grind.
I look at it this way: It runs and drives well. 3.2L Engines are going for $5k now. This has under 100K miles and an LN IMS bearing. It has a hard top. ...Right there, I'd do $5K if the rest was a pile of trash and I was local. Plus it has an interesting front end swap and body kit.
Omg if I had 5k right now I would totally scoop that up to be my track rat!!
Damn. That is a killer deal!
Does anybody have access to this forum? I tried to register but never could. I would be all over this car if I can reach out to the guy.
This would make for some great GRM content: send a journalist and his wife to the PNW for an awesome vacation, see friends in Renton, where this mid-engine Porsche with a questionable gearbox is located, buy it, then hop in and drive it all the way to Florida.
;-)
I will buy it if I can reach him

I am frequently on the 986Forum. Do you want me to message him and see if I can link you two up? PM me if you have contact info I can pass to him.
Yes please. skjss0307@gmail.com

I messaged him at the 986Forum. Good luck!
I'm happy to store the car for a GRMer. I even have garage space.
Good grief, I want that. Transpo to Phoenix would be frustrating though. I would absolutely buy that.
I wish that was closer to me.
So did anyone here end up buying this one? I still want it and may be able to figure out transpo.
As far as I can tell the seller has not responded to anyone. The last time he was signed in on that forum was the day he posted the ad, so maybe just busy with other stuff.
