Up for sale is my 1989 Honda Civic Si prepped for SCCA club racing. Car currently runs in ITA class, would be a solid candidate for FP/STL as well. Perfect to start your road racing career, as it did for me. Old school Improved Touring crew from the Great Lakes Division might recognize the car, I bought it in the fall of 2022 from the previous owner non-running due to an electrical issue that occurred during an engine swap. We got it running and I went through the car fixed/sorted it in 2023, running it at a handful of autocrosses and track days. This spring it got me through the Waterford Hills driver's school and a few regional road race weekends.
Powertrain:
-Blake Merideth built ITA-spec motor (D16A6) originally from Xian's EF sedan. 0.040 over pistons, etc.
-Freshly rebuilt (0 hours) tranmission with new synchros, bearings, etc. Gear-X 4.9 final drive, OPM/Eckrich limited slip diff
-Innovative poly motor mounts
-Hush Performance billet lower transmission mount
-Exedy Clutch
-Chipped/Flashed ECU
-DC Sports Header
-Cold Air Intake
Chassis/Suspension
-Koni SPSS3 "Race" valved shocks
-Ground control/Eibach coilover sleeves

Interior
-AutoPower bolt-in cage with added door bars
-Sparco Sprint seat, passenger side has tabs welded to floor for included side mounts to mount a passenger seat
-Quick release hub/aftermarket wheel
-2024 date code SFI harnesses from RJS/RacerDirect
-2024 date code FireBottle suppression system
-BimmerWorld/FrostFighter windshield defrost grid
-Oil Temp/Oil Pressure gauges
Pros:
-Competitive in class, ran a 1:17s at Waterford and 1:47s at Gingerman with an average driver and 3 year old tires.
-SCCA logbook included, safety equipment was updated this spring. Car is turnkey, ready to hit the track.
Cons:
-No title
-It is about as far from being a show car as it gets. It’s been a race car for about 2 decades now, and has seen a few walls in its time, with race car grade repairs/bodywork.
-The cage is an AutoPower bolt-in with some added door bars. Partially because of this, it’s not a great candidate for LeMons/ChampCar. The cage will likely never be legal for LeMons. With bigger spreader plates and an added dash bar, it could be Champ legal.
$6500
Asking price will include one set of 15x7 Kosei K1 wheels with pretty used up 205/50/15 SM7s. Additional sets of wheels available, and I have every possible spare on the planet for these cars that can be negotiated into the sale.
