Lemons Racecar 2001 VW Bug

It's almost there!! Unfortunately the team has crumbled around me, and I'm left to sell what we have. The more I look at the parts, the more I just want to finish it, but it needs to go. Comes with everything (minus Harnesses, and the wire for the battery disconnect) you need to finish the car and go racing.

Race Prep completed to date:

Lemons legal cage installed, interior stripped (1.75 x .095 wall DOM steel tubing used) (see photos)

Koni Orange (Str.t) shocks/struts installed on all 4 corners with H&R lowering springs (new shock/strut mounts)

EBC yellowstuff pads and new drilled rotors installed on all 4 corners

New bushings installed in both front control arms

New axles installed on both sides

Sparco Sprint racing seat installed on Sparco bottom mount slider and Sparco seat mount

New battery installed Feb 2020

VW OEM 17x7 wheels with roller tires

New in Box Safety Equipment:

Fire Bottle 5 lb Fire System

SFI Roll cage padding, 2x sticks

Foam roll cage padding, 3x sticks

Longacre 4 post battery disconnect

Comes with: 

Spare front bumper

Spare used radiator with fans

What needs to be done to race:

Fire system plumbed (New in box system included with car)

Install Compliant exhaust (muffler/ side exit)

Install Roll cage padding

Install 6 point Harness (New in box Racequip FIA 6 point included)

Install tires of choice (tires it's rolling on have sidewall bubbles)

Install RHS headlight

Wire Master kill switch (Longacre 4 post battery disconnect included)

Make/install Battery tiedown.

Install better tie downs / mark locations

Halley? I don't think he actually owns that beetle anymore. With the Lemons cage, it'd need a lot of updates to be stage rally legal. Not sure the door bars are legal at all per FIA 253J (which is what ARA certifies to).

How does that transmission do endurance racing?  Beating on any automatic for heavy track use and long periods of time seems like it wouldn't end well.

Otherwise it looks like a good deal for a starter team.

Not sure how it would have done. The plan was always a manual swap, eventually. I had to stop myself from buying a mk4 Jetta 5 speed with a blown engine a couple weeks ago...

The original choice of the car was not mine.
