Sold!
Price is tempting - I hope something like this comes along when it's time to get a car for my now 11-year-old boy.
Good luck with the sale!

If it's your montero, unfortunately no. Only trade would be a 100% ready-to-go commuter car for days when the weather says miata is not the answer.
One person is looking at it on Saturday and two others have called and started discussing fly'n'drive logistics if it doesn't sell locally. While I love a good fly'n'drive it would be easier to do a local deal.
Hasty interior pics as it sits, didn't get a chance to clean. Minor wear on steering wheel and armrest. These seats and bolsters held up amazingly well, VW needs to be a case study on interior durability.
It's actually still here. I've been too busy to seriously entertain a fly-n-drive, and only listed it here.
A semi-local guy offered over asking, came and saw it and offered a deposit, but meeting up to complete the sale has been a comedic disaster due to scheduling issues. I don't actually know if he still wants it but he knows my availability in conjunction with the notary's hours so...we'll see?
In the meantime, it got a brand new AGM battery (because the 5 yr old one quit and threw a bunch of cels AT THE TEST DRIVE, naturally) and i put a new PCV assembly in it the other night because I had bought the part shortly after purchase knowing the one in the car was of unknown age. I've also put 700 miles on it since posting the ad, and driving like a normal person the clutch doesn't slip anyway. I wouldn't be disappointed if I ended up keeping it but it IS still for sale if you're interested.
This does seem like a great deal. I'm looking for a fun dog hauler to replace my BRZ. Would prefer a 4 door GTI but I think I could make this work. Let me think
Sorry you've run the gambit with selling. Went through the same thing when I sold my old E36 M3. Dude could barely drive stick, stalled 3 times on the drive. Told him to pack it up and leave
Im not too far away but wish it was a 4 door for kid hauling duty. Great deal on the car, '15 didn't have the motor issues as the previous gens
