I'll see your unicorn and raise you. http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/ctd/4908035180.html Not far from me. If the phone doesn't ring with work tomorrow, I'll grab some cash and go take a look.

That Puyallup car is way overpriced. It's in rough shape for a PNW car and looks like it's owned by a bunch of slobs.

Yeah, I'm actually on the market as I plan to put my E36 up for sale this weekend. This is something I would normally be interested in, but seems overpriced for a high-miles car that appears to have lived a rough life.

Why are all the used cars down in that Puyallup/Tacoma area? I was down in Lakewood this weekend looking at a couple used cars, and that is a real haul that will eat up your whole day.

Average 20mpg? Either driven very hard, or by someone who doesn't know how to shift. Either way, run.

Ugh, that first one is that horrid pale mint green color.

Local Subaru dealer has this one. It's been there a LOOOONNNGGG time. Bet you could make a deal so they could unload it.

Keep in mind that 165k kms, is just a touch over 100K miles.

I actually just bought one of these a couple months ago. Great fun to drive. The stick and firm suspension make it a lot more fun than you expect.

That's actually the EPA rating. The gas mileage is surprisingly terrible for a midsize v6 car. 17 city, 24 highway. The gearing is very low.

What engine RPM are you running at 60MPH/100KPH?

Eye of the beholder. I have always liked that pale mint color of that era 6.

I don't, mainly because I worked for a body shop in which the owner liked to buy auction cars to flip. The rental car companies must have loved that color, because he brought one of those (in sedan form) back a week in that color. They all had tan interiors.

I had friends that a black one and a blue one. They looked way more appealing.

I love that era of Mazda 6, but not that color.

Only if that made this with a 4 cyl instead of the 6..

You could get a stick with the 4 cylinder - don't know if you could get a stick wagon with the 4 cylinder though. They didn't sell many 4 cylinder wagons.

They actually didn't sell any 4 cylinder wagons, stick or otherwise. The wagon was exclusively the 3.0 6 cyl, sort of like how the wagon version of the 3 only had the 2.3. You buy the wagon, you get the better engine.

The really cool 6 is the hatch. It weighs a bit more and occasionally had some rear hatch issues, but you got the back windshield wiper, and you could tell people it was technically a hatchback :). I understand the pull of the wagon though. The first gen 6 was an awesome car in any form, and it handles and has better steering feel than any FWD sedan has a right to.

Either way, I would go with the 2nd. Off the bat, it looks better maintained and has the good looking sport package on it

I had an '07 V6 Hatch with a 5 speed. In Violet Gray ('07/'08 only color) with cloth seats and no sunroof. Super rare car. I let it go last year way too cheap because I was sick of FWD and it had a fair amount of maintenance due that I didn't want to pay for (timing belt and serpentine belt was due, clutch was starting to go, I was starting to get serious in autocross so that meant new shocks at least). I didn't think it was that difficult to work on. I fell in love with that engine because I had a '99 Taurus with it which gave me few problems from over 100k miles of abuse, but it was a pain in the ass to work on. The Mazda, while being a smaller chassis and having VVT, seemed to have more room to work and things seemed to be laid out in a more logical manner.

My sister had a 4 cylinder manual hatchback. Don't remember what year but it was a cool car and I told her not to get rid of it. She didn't listen to me and traded it on a Toyota highlander. Terrible car!!
