This is local to Colorado Springs.  I've been wanting something to do some dirt roading/camping in and am tempted to check this out.  It's a Toyota, but I know nothing about how well these do over 200k miles.  It presents well, but is in a rancher's field where I couldn't see the interior.  If I got something like this, it would see a lot of miles but would need to be reliable.  Tows would be expensive from Rampart Range or behind Cheyenne Mtn.

Any expert advice on these?

How much is it?  The 4.0 is a great motor, we had a 5th gen 4runner that we got rid of that we racked up 183k miles on it that were mainly trouble free.

Sorry, edited for pictures.  Asking $12.5k.  My wife knows the guy selling, so at least we may help him out.  I didn't realize this until I showed her the pictures to see if she was interested.

Price isn't too out of line for those, they don't make them anymore so the prices are on the steady incline unfortunately.  Is it just you or another one that you are planning on camping with?  There are other options that won't be as high that are better suited for more than 2 people in my opinion.

I have owned one since 2010. Mine is a 2007 with the 6-speed, and has 216K. It has been absolutely bulletproof. The only thing I have done service wise is replace the brakes, and that was last year. I also replaced the struts a few years back, but that was when I lifted it and the struts were part of the lift. Other than that tires, oil, and gas.

I love mine. Great daily driver. Really good offroad. Decent towing capacity for what it is. My only bitch is it only gets around 14-15 mpg. I plan on keeping mine for another 4-5 years. I would buy another if they were available.

I've read about the gas mileage.  Not planning on going more than a few hours away.  Probably just the two of us camping, although a kid or two may come on an overnighter.

Only reason I ask is the windows in the rear doors don't go down so if you are offroading or trail cruising they can't put down the windows and look around.  Rear seat area in those are pretty isolated.

$12.5k sounds like a STEAL for what these have gone for in the past. but maybe i'm way out of the loop..

I'd blur the phone number in the pictures if I were you. If the seller hasn't put this on the internet, your posting might help it slip out of your hands.

I then realized that I have the Mod power to edit that for you...so I did.  If you would like the original version back, just say so.  I have that too.  Or, you too have the power to change it back.

Best use of mod powers ever! Doing OP a super solid. Like you're Superman and OP would have shot themselves in the foot, but you snatched the bullet before it hit their foot.

LOL, thanks.  I didn't post this thinking I'd buy it.  That just happened after I thought about it for a while.  Also, maybe I want someone to buy it so that I won't be tempted.

But I am taking a closer look tomorrow morning. smiley

It's actually really clean for the miles. It does have the rear diff locker which is good too. Not a bad buy.

My 3 y.o. Fiesta ST looks worse than that.  I'm not into cleaning daily drivers like I used to be.

I know the owner of this 07 with 148k miles. Pretty sure he's thinking about selling

2007s have some model year specific issues that you need to look into before the test drive.  There is a reason the 2008+ cars are worth at least $5K more.  I remember fender bulges or fender cracks being annoying to fix.  I believe you can see if the car has issues when you open the hood.

Otherwise, they are bulletproof.

This is sold (to me).  I checked it over, drove it, and didn't see any issues.  No fender bulges (but I'll be keeping an eye on that).  No fluid leaks, very clean, and the interior was almost perfect.  This wasn't an off-roader, but the owner used it to commute to Denver from west of there, so many highway miles.  It drove well and felt very solid with no squeaks or rattles.  The clutch will need replaced at some point, but still has life left in it.  Looks like I'll be upgrading my jack stands.

Congrats Joe!!

Me and Seth (mazdaduece) both have them. Mine is the rare Red Trail Team 2012. He has a blue one.  He gave me his 3rd row, so mine is a 7 passenger. Love it, my favorite vehicle.

Well, damn.  Here's a problem I've never encountered when buying a vehicle.  The seller is a friend of the owner that my wife knows and I've met several times.  Good guy with a solid local reputation.  Unfortunately, the owner moved to NC and can't find the title after the move.  He's applied for a replacement title to CO, but that may take months.  So for now, the purchase check is on hold while we wait for a title to arrive.  Our new Volvo is still waiting for tags from an October purchase, so I'm not optimistic.
