NMNA 63 spitfire/NA Miata hybrid

I have an unfinished 1963 Triumph Spitfire which has been modified with a complete 1991 Miata drivetrain (engine, trans, rearend with customs axles, and hubs). The frame was modified to accommodate the miata drivetrain. The project now runs, drives, and stops. The value posted is basically for the frame holding the miata drive system - bc the body of the Spitfire is solid but it’s a mess. I would actually suggest to anyone interested to search for a body which you can just switch onto this frame. I’m currently working on the gauges and other wiring puzzles but the “bones” of the car are there. I would be glad to send photos to folks with serious inquiries and a lot of determination - because like I said - it’s not finished. Otherwise, it’s a complete vehicle with title in my name. I have another project which I hope to fund which is why the sale of the Spitfire - Price is relatively firm. That’s not too far from me, but I’m not familiar with it.  

Is this the car Curmudgeon started?  Although I thought that was a GT6.

If it is, one of the Hive needs to save/finish it.

Be curious to know why and how the rear suspenson was modified? Has the Miata track been narrowed to stay under the Triumph body? If so, curious how?

Seen it done once with a P1800. Wondering if the same process.

I think Curmudgeon modified the sub-frame and made shortened control arms to fit everything under the body.  

Found the old thread from 2012.   ...and yep - that's what he did.  And the car he worked on was a GT6, so not the car linked above.

The P1800 version kept the a-arms the same but removed a section of the suspension cradle. New shorter axles of course.

Yes, very curious on this one. Many people have attempted this, but narrowing the Miata rear subframe often proves to be the reason most of these projects do not get completed. They have the wheels looking nicely spaced in the wheel wells so this looks promising. Shame on the hood scoop, you can lower the Miata engine enough to clear the hood, but it requires notching the frame.  Some one needs to snatch this up and complete it!
