I considered this, but I don't even have time or space to part it out. Challenge 928? Restoration project? ...or money pit? Looks complete and "extra parts".

A title could be had with a little effort, like I did for my 914. I'm not sure I'd want one though. Restoration quality parts for those are $$$$$$ - I would not want the project. Part it out or use it for a toy. Just sell the wheels (not the most desirable, but I'd like a set in my collection) and the brake calipers and you have more than your money back.
The risk of things not going the way you'd hope still go up when there isn't a clean title in hand. And yes, these are complex cars, with expensive parts. I wouldn't give $800 when it isn't a car, it's a problem that needs solving. I do think these are cool but only from a distance.
Being from VA, I'm sure no title is a problem in Bal'mer MD. But a 79, not as much. and down here in AL, non-issue at that age.
Still, a money pit... but does give me evel thoughts of things to do with it!
The early cars really are not worth much. The 87 up on the other hand are what I want. Specifically an 87 s4 manual car.
