My buddy built this into a camera car and it only worked a few times. On the last job the motor started smoking, so he parked it. Now he wants the space.

E36 M3, I just spent my monthly car buying budget on another Boxster. Someone needs to buy this quick.
Edit: I got home from night shift and showed this to Mrs AAZCD. She almost slapped me for not buying it already. If it is still available I'm planning to get it. 2022 Challenge/Rallycross and whatever else awesomeness.
I just got off the phone with Jeff, the owner, and the car sounds even better than I thought. He started telling me about it's history and some of the shoots he's done with it from Walker Texas Ranger through Mustang commercials. I mentioned that I was researching potential engine replacements and Jeff said, No! The engine that is in it is *perfect* for the car, it needs to be repaired, not replaced. I feel a little out of my element with it, since I have a long history with Hondas, and German cars and have not done much with GM's, but I am stoked to get this thing and start sorting it out! I'm planning to head to Dallas on Wednesday and pick up the Fiero in the late afternoon. !!!
It's funny that Jeff said that. With all due respect to my good friend, I bet you know more about it than he does.
he thought it might have broken a ring or something. He is very smart about vehicles and it might be a relatively easy fix. But I doubt that motor is any more than stock which means more power = better.
bummed I couldn't get it. I think it's a great deal.

I keep checking to see what time it is and am disappointed when I see it's 10 minutes after the last time I checked and it's still only Monday. I'm planning to head to Dallas on Wednesday around noon. Pretty sure the trip would be worth it just to get the tour and see his facility.

When you come to DFW to get it holler. I will let you know what I'm planning for next years challenge too. Since I have the MR2, we can consider it a battle of OK and TX to the automotive death! Oh and if you are in Ardmore this weekend you can abuse the Subaru at Offroad Heaven. I'm going to. If you never driven AWD on dirt in anger, you should do it at least once. It's so different.

I hope you can find a really cheap or free Lambo body kit for this. The idea of a "Lambo" rallyx car would be hilarious.
I should be home around midnight.
I worked last night and it was busy up to about 2 am including flying my (EMS Helicopter) crew to a staging area while some federal marshals were serving a high risk warrant and an accident scene. I napped from 3 am to 6 am, then got about two hours of good sleep at home before heading to Dallas. For now coffee is my co-driver, but if I get seriously tired, I'm stopping at a motel.
