Story time...
So a couple years ago I bought two kei trucks, one rwd and one awd. I sold the rwd because I really wanted to keep and drive the awd one. Right from the moment the two trucks rolled off the delivery truck the rwd was in way better shape. The awd was defnietly used. But bearing that in mind it's been dead reliable so far (knocks on wood). I have an opportunity to buy back a car I sold last year and it's really been temptring me to do so. But I need to sell off a car or two in order to have the space and money.
Enough story time, here are some details.
1995 Honda ACTY Attack. <-- The attack model has a 4 speed manual transmission where all the other awd and rwd have 5 speeds. What it adds is an ultra low first gear and ultra low reverse that is operated by a pull up collar on the shifter. Plus a button on the dash that will lock the rear differential when it is in the UL gears. This makes it capable off road, but slower on road than the other models.
What's been done. I added a Sony head unit and Kicker speakers in the doors. An eBay/Amazon 2" lift, extended rear shackles and strut spacers in the front. There are mixed opinions on this style, but it's worked for the little driving I do with it. Also found a set of Civic VX 13" wheels and added Forceum MT tires. Did and oil change and fuel treatment. Air filter looked new when I got it.
What's not so great, it's due for a clutch soon. I can't find any record of the timing belt being done on it so that would be a big priority as these are interference engines. Maybe once this next week of rain of over I'll see if the cover is easy to access and just take a look. I know it's no guarentee, but at least I might be able to see if it's totally due or maybe had one. It's got rust at the base of the windshield frame, dents around the body and some surface rust all around. In the time I've been under it I haven't seen any rust through anywhere.
Since the market got flooded with these prices seem to be all across the board. So a little rough condition, but the special model. So in my mind for it to worth worth it to me is $5500, for what I have invested in it. etc. It is registered and legal in CT with classic plates. CT doesn't title over 20 years old now, so it will be sold with the current registration which should be enough for registration in the states that allow them (some are restricting them)
I'm really enjoying the RWD one that I got from you. Perfect little truck to scoot around town in. If you don't get a quick buyer here, put it in the 'Mini Truck Marketplace' on FB. https://www.facebook.com/groups/651842066713540 .

Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the truck. I had started driving it more just before I sold it to you and it really was a nice one. Good condition and the 2WD and 5 speed made it very usable.
This one I'm selling now, between being in a little rougher condition and having the 4 speed and taller tires does make it a little slower overall. Still not dangerous, for example a pretty steep hill near me, slows it to about 30-35mph, and it's a 45mph zone. A loaded full size truck may be down to that as well. The 5 speed models would hold better. Partly may also be the 13" wheels and M/T tires.
Getting to my point I'm thinking about selling the tires/wheels separately and toss back on the stock 12". Wheels are the lighter weight Civic VX 13" and tires are Forceum MT. Exact size I'll add in a second but I've gotten screwed by switching tabs on mobile and this site wiping out my whole post.
I don't need one, but man it'd be fun to have one to drive around town–and maybe pick up a bag of mulch once in a while.

I've been driving this one my local town garage on Saturdays to drop off compost and recycling and then to get breakfast.
When I swap back to the stock tires I'll take it to work a bit more. Work commute has that previously mentioned steep hill that is about a mile long.
When I sell stuff I have trouble letting go, so firstly I'd be buying back the A4 Avant from Golfduke if it's not sold yet, but I'd also consider getting another ACTY in the future. In 1999 they changed body styles and also went to a fuel injected version of the 660cc engine. So I'd be looking at one of those as a replacement.
Also since I watch Grind Hard Plumbing Co. on YouTube I'm also thinking if I could get enough parting this out doing some sort of build with a different power plant.

Still considering selling this. I've usually drive drive once or twice a week to the store in town.
Would take less than I originally posted.

Hi sir. I'd be very very interested in purchasing your wheel and tire setup. I just returned a set of golf cart wheels and tires that didn't fit well and I am ready to pull the trigger on this setup. Please email me if you can at token9k@gmail.com or shoot me a text at 205-790-8859 if you would consider selling the wheels and tires. I am down in Birmingham, AL and could pay for shipping also. Hope to hear from you. Thanks.

Oh boy, I gotta stay off of this forum...
My wife and have casually wanted a Kei truck for a while now, and we'd probably pounce if the price was right. "a little rough condition" is the right condition for us...

It can be dangerous. This thing is quite tempting.
I've bought 2 cars off of Dan0 and this forum, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy several more. He's a great, standup, honest dude, deal with confidence!!!

I'll post of some fresh pictures and details tomorrow and reach out to those interested.
What kind of fuel milage does something like this get? It's far from a practical daily for me I'm sure, but I'm curious.

30+ as a guess. I never did a full tank analysis, plus bigger tires than stock. Mine being the Attack model (4 speed + ultra low first) probably would bring it down some over a standard awd model with a 5 speed. Although I did read somewhere the highest gear ratio is the same on both the transmissions. From what I read in Facebook groups some people say as high as 50 mpg. Up to 1994 on the ACTY there is a bolt on the driveshaft to the front that you can undo and make it 2wd, I think people have said they've gained 2 mpg doing that.
Good overall resource on the ACTY can be found here: https://robrobinette.com/Honda_ACTY.htm
