Same car, great new ad: 1995 BMW 318TI, Detroit

You guys might recognize this car from 2+ years of previous ads, but here we are again! I am going to price this at $2450, and if anyone is interested in taking this to the challenge I'm happy to itemize.

What it is: 

1995 318ti (M42), 5 speed, open 3.45 small case diff.

183k miles or so; still starts up and runs every time.

Interior is mostly in good shape; door panels are off and dash (painted black) has a few spots of paint peeling.

Cooling system refresh has been done

M-sport interior, front/rear bumpers

* - fan doesn't come on and car will run hot in traffic. I have a(nother) replacement fan/shroud assembly, and spare relays

* - has the M42 exhaust manifold that leaks at the manifold

* - one of the last times I was poking around, I found rust hole behind the driver seat, and another behind the rear wheel (driver's side). There's some starting near the hinge at the hatch as well, on the driver's side.

Tons of new parts; I have a spreadsheet somewhere for anyone seriously interested.. Brake pads, 

Spares:

Steering U-joint - common E36 problem that this gets sticky.. I've been spraying Lube on it to get by

Taillights (Unique to TI)

Door glass (unique to TI)

Trunk interior trim

Replacement exh. manifold needing work, with new manifold and downpipe studs

Rear spring 

Definitely more stuff, too, but I'm sitting inside and it's scattered around the garage.

Really, I am tired of walking around it while I go to work on my other 3 projects, and I need to stop kidding myself that this one is "next up". 
Car isn't currently registered or insured so rides will be tough, but you're welcome to take it around the block and feel it out.

This car is solid and straight and runs well, with a few bumps and bruises that you should expect in an inexpensive 25 year old car.

I am by no means in the market, but love it. One of my favorite BMW body styles. GLWS!

Going to drop the price to an even $2000. The car has some body rust but it's it not terrible. After getting Riggamort going as well as it is, I think that to dedicate that level of time/effort to my other projects will delay me getting to work on this, and Id hate to see it sir through another winter here.

I leave for the Challenge Thursday and can sell it to you before or after that.

I really wish someone would buy this already. It's been taunting me for far too long. If I decide to sell my C900 this fall (which is a possibility), this would be a good replacement. That said, I sincerely hope someone else beats me to it, as the logistics would not be easy. GLWS.

It would be a great winter car.. If it doesn't sell anytime soon, I may take the Camaro off the road and register this for the winter instead, since it's just been so long since it's gotten any miles put on it!

It's been a couple months since I bought a car. I might have to get this. Think it would be up for 700 mile drive? 

I was really hoping one of you guys would have saved me from this temptation by now....

It might. I don't think I've put that many miles on it since I've owned it, sadly. The rad fan doesn't come on, still - so it might be sketchy if you hit traffic, and the exhaust sound/leak isn't great @70mph, it's like 3300 rpms so might not be the coziest ride, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Depending on your timeline I can drive it around some after the challenge and see if anything jumps out.

I'll post up the more recent/most up to date rust pictures too.

This car needs an LS swap and a new life.

I'm glad you're far away.  I've always had a soft spot for these cars.  

Some friends of mine run a 318Ti in Champ car and have been really happy with it.   The well built Miatas are faster, but they've been pretty competitive due to the fact they don't need to pit to refuel between mandatory driver changes. M44s are pretty robust engines...and they're dirt cheap used.  GLWS (again)

LS swap was my plan lol (FIL has a 6.0 for free-fitty), but I need to get my courier finished before I crack into that.. and I'm driving my LS 4th gen Camaro now so I don't have much to use this for in the meantime. I still love it, is just not at the front of the rotation.

Whenever riggamort sells It'll relieve some of the pressure here. I still hate to sell this car, it just doesn't make sense to hang onto it.

I'd be tempted to rewire the electric cooling fan, but then I think I'd roll the dice on a long drive in it.
