1998 328i Spec E36 and Featherlite aluminum trailer $14,500 - will sell separately if you do not need the trailer.
Weston, Massachusetts (near Boston)
128,116 miles
3 sets of Kosei K1 race wheels in excellent condition: 1 set with dead Yokohamas, 1 set with 2009 g-Force R1s (OK but old), 1 set with BFG rain tires (used only twice, once in 2022 and briefly in 2023 – great rains but not the current spec rain tire)
1 set of original factory wheels and tires for storage.
This car was purchased already built from Rob Mau. The only significant changes I made were to replace the solid aluminum transmission mounts to reduce off-throttle driveline shudder and adjust the rear suspension to eliminate tire rubbing. New Turner high-output coils and new plugs were just installed.
Driver’s harness, window net, and center net are expired.
Nasa logbook (Rob raced in 2008 and 2009) and BMWCCA logbook (Rob raced in 2008, I raced in 2011). Used every year in HP driving schools with BMW, Audi, and COMSCC.
Original seller’s ad:
This is a fully sorted and fast Spec e36 car professionally built.
- Engine and trans are great and put down good dyno numbers and leak down test
- Safety is something I take very seriously so it has a custom cage with NASCAR bars, foot protection, front cross bar, 1 FIA seat, belts, window net, and a fire bottle
- Suspension is all Turner solid and Delrin bushings where appropriate (I spent over $5k on bushings alone and it’s a huge advantage). [Solid aluminum transmission mounts were replaced with Turner mounts. The solid mounts are included in the spare parts.]
- All chassis reinforcements welded in front and rear
- Oil pan is baffled; new oil pump is drilled and safety wired
- M3 oil cooler added
- Control arms, wheel bearings and axles are all new OEM stuff.
- G2X data acquisition with GPS mapping, electronic dash and everything you need to analyze how to be a better and faster driver
- Rouge engineering shifter kit
- The car has never been in a wreck and the original color is white as seen on the sides of the car. The hood paint and top are a design decision
- Very competitive in both BMWCCA and NASA GTS racing (always top 3) with plenty of room for improvement. [Said Rob. Not if I’m the driver ]
