I've never done anything more complex than a spark plug change so safe to say it's wayyyy above my skill grade too!

From a quick search, it's an optical illusion. X5 is 191" and e39 Touring is 189".
On a related note, the X5d tows like a dream. With an empty trailer, it feels like nothing is behind the car!
