Is it bad that I think this needs a big block chevy, a pair of turbochargers, and some big mufflers? I just don't think the factory 189hp in a 4500 lb car can be very elegant in today's traffic.

It's been a while since I checked but the father of a friend of mine was quoted 10k to do calipers, rotors and pads years ago. Yeah, 10k.
I understand from a friend that has a foreign repair shop that some Crown Vic parts bolt right on.
just graft it with chevy truck parts, should be cheap and easy and just as safe-ish.
Why you don't see hotrod ones all the time is totally beyond me
I've always wants to buy one and drop in a BBC and convert the brakes to something sensible.

I have a welder and a sawzall....therefore they ALL bolt on ;)
