The free boat is expensive as it is, but expanding on that what is worse?
A free sailboat (sails/mast cost), motorboat (engine repairs), with trailer, in mooring, in storage? All of those conditions could certainly make things more expensive.

Good point even a fiberglass hull with some damage will be a lot cheaper than repairing a wooden boat.
Even old fiberglass is wicked thick & heavy, prone to sponge. Hard pass, but there are more gullible people than me.
