Future Mrs Javelin and I are going to central Florida in August. We would like to buy something interesting to drive back to Washington for our honeymoon. Our interests are everywhere - AMC, Trans Am, rotary Mazdas, Porsche, AMG Benz, old Land Cruiser, etc.
Our budget is $15k ish (will do more for the "right" car) and a manual is required unless it's a cruise like a Benz S Class. There should be a vague worry of a breakdown ideally.
So, what do you have? Sell me your cool car!
Let me know when you want to pick it up!
With the Riviera you could travel home via the Trans American Trail. Dirt road and off road from Carolina to Oregon!

Here you go. Interesting, fun, comfortable, roomy, will look great in your travel photos: 944 S2

I am very interested in an S2! Is it for sale?
In reply to Tom Suddard :
Interesting, but not as much as the Range Rover I traded a bottle of scotch for that's already molding in my side yard.
I hear C5 Corvettes are nice! Too soon?
I don't have anything to sell you but I'd be happy to scout candidates for you if you find something near Gainesville.

Yes, reluctantly, I have decided to sell the 944 S2.
I have owned the 944S2 for more than 20 years but I ended up with another special-to-me car that really needs the garage spot. This S2 is highly original, right down to the sunroof storage bag, owner's manual (with maintenance logged), window sticker, Certificate of Authenticity, tool kit, compressor, valet key, etc. As a 32 year old car, it is not perfect, but looks nice, drives nice and gets compliments wherever I drive it. It won a first place concours trophy at a Porsche Parade and many local awards. It has the (apparently rare) factory limited slip differential and Koni shocks. It even has the Porsche battery cover. The factory Konis have been replaced with new Konis. I upsized the front sway bar to the M030 piece, but the original bar will come with the car. It has been test-driven about 210,000 miles to make sure it is reliable. The original Blaupunkt radio/cassette player has quit working but I have bought a modern Blaupunkt head unit that will go with it. It leaks some oil, diagnosed by the dealer as the oil pan gasket, but not enough to concern me. The belts were changed by the dealer less than 3000 miles ago, in 2018. The AC compressor was replaced and system changed to R-134A in 2018. The paint appears to be original except for the front bumper, although there have been plenty of chips and scratches touched up over the years. A seam on the driver's seat is pulling apart but it is hard to see in photos. The VIN stickers all match on the body, fenders, doors and hood. The glass hatch broke several years ago and has been replaced. I have plenty of photos that I can share. Thinking $13,900 would be a fair price.

Interesting that it has the limited slip rear diff and koni's but not the M030 package! The way Porsches get equipped is so ala carte...
Javelin, the S2 is one of the best 944's you can buy...
In reply to docwyte :
My 86 944 was a LSD, Koni, Sport Seat car with no M030 as well. I dearly miss it and an S2 would be fantastic next to my 986 S...

I really wish you & I didn't have the same taste in vehicles. It's way too tempting to want to buy every one of them.

I didn't know the Riviera was still in the fleet.

If you are coming to the Tampa/St Pete area of central Fl I can offer up a shop to put the new vehicle up on a lift so you can give it a once over.
