“Wait,” you say to yourself, “a 1989 ZR-1? Wasn’t the C4 ZR-1 only available starting in 1990?” Yes, the ZR-1 didn’t officially go on sale until the 1990 model year, though some 84 examples were produced for 1989.

Although none were intended for the general public, a few seem to have slipped through the cracks.

Such is the case for this ZR-1, which currently shows 34,463 miles on its odometer.

Find this 1989 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Coupe up for auction from Mecum.

The red interiors back then were really red. Wow.

In reply to J.A. Ackley :

I say if you have an interior color option other than black or gray, I say go for it.

I think an underrated way to spec a car is to go for a subtle exterior paint color and then a loud interior color scheme.
