A French hot hatch that’s not a Peugeot 205 GTI? How about Renault’s response to the 205 GTI, the 5 GT Turbo?

The 5 GT Turbo made use of a 1.4-liter inline-four fitted with an air-cooled Garrett T2 turbocharger.

This example was purchased new by its current owner, who had the car to be updated to “Phase II” specifications.

In addition to specific wheels and body components, Phase II upgraded the air-cooled turbo setup to a water-cooled setup.

The Renault also benefits from a restoration completed in 2019 that saw the body refurbished and the engine rebuilt.

Find this 1987 Renault Super 5 GT Turbo up for auction from Artcurial on October 27 with an estimated value of €15,000-€25,000, or approximately $16,366-$27,275.
