Many recognize the Hendrick Motorsports name from its success in NASCAR. However, the vaunted company also owns wins in sports cars, with this GTP prototype being a fine example of that.

Sarel van der Merwe and Doc Bundy won with the car in IMSA, back then carrying the GM Goodwrench livery. Lola built the chassis and the turbocharged Chevrolet V6, which was capable of 1000 horsepower–at the expense of longevity.

Although the car is offered sans body, it does come with a wealth of automobilia, including GM Goodwrench Corvette postcards, Hendrick Motorsports apparel, vintage IMSA crew passes, various parts and framed photos signed by Rick Hendrick and Sarel van der Merwe.

Here is what the finished racecar looked like for its campaign by Hendricks Motorsport.  BTW I had the honor of designing the livery - this is the actual illustration I did for the team working with Larry Shinoda at the time.

Thank you for sharing how the livery looked! I love the added silver to what was typically an all-black design in the NASCAR world. Hopefully, whoever buys this car chooses to restore the car to its former glory.
