Oldsmobile introduced this concept car in 1954–one year after the Corvette. While the Oldsmobile F-88 never went into production, you can purchase the car that debuted the concept.

The F-88 used the same chassis as the Corvette and also sported a fiberglass body. Olds powered the car with 324-cubic-inch V8 out of a Super 88. Not all was for naught with this concept, though. The instrument panel design would later go into the Oldsmobile Cutlass.

E.L. Cord, yes, the man behind the Cord Corporation, once owned this vehicle and was stored at his home for years.

Find this 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 Concept Car up for auction at Broad Arrow Auctions, with an estimated winning bid of $2,000,000-$3,000,000.

An F-88 with a V-8, rather than the Corvette with a 235 6-cylinder?  There's a pretty good chance the Corvette would have died right there...then the F-88 would have gone away when GM killed off Oldsmobile 50 years later.

It looks more Luxury GT vs. something to challenge the Cobra ?

If it had lived,it might have been adopted under the Cadillac brand , my guesses from this armchair ;)
