If the only thing you got in this world is what you can sell, then Bonhams certainly has something special: The Series II Land Rover bought new–and owned for over four decades–by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Arthur Miller.

The Land Rover spent its life in Roxbury, Connecticut, at the estate Miller shared with his then-wife, famed actress Marilyn Monroe.

Used for driving the estate, trips into town and more, the Land Rover wears the well-earned patina of a much-loved machine. As the seller notes, Miller was known to enjoy working with hands and performed much of the maintenance work himself.

Even after Miller passed away in 2005, the Land Rover remained in the care of his family until now–the first time the vehicle has been on the market since Miller purchased it.

Also included in the sale? The original title in Miller's name, a copy of the factory invoice and a British Motor Museum Heritage Certificate.

Find this 1961 Land Rover Series II 88-inch Hardtop up for auction from Bonhams | Cars on January 24.
